SZIU degrees recognised in Qatar

The Qatari Supreme Education Council published a list of higher educational institutions from 58 countries at the end of December 2014.

Developing relations with Minnan Normal Univeristy (Zhangzhou, China)

The cities of Gödöllő and Zhangzhou (with a population of about 5 million) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in July 2011 – preceded by the Chinese partner’s several visits and a few years of successful cooperation – and became sister cities on 19 August 2013 when dr. György Gémesi, Mayor of Gödöllő and Deputy Mayor Xie Yitai signed an agreement.

SZIU wins award for international higher education marketing

The International Relations Office’s team received first prize in Tempus Public Foundation’s (TPF) International Development of Higher Education tender in the category of International Higher Education Marketing.

Her Majesty the Queen Mother of Bhutan visits SZIU

The Office of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Sangay Choden Wangchuck, Kingdom of Bhutan and Szent István University concluded a Memorandum of Understanding on 5 September 2014. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Sangay Choden Wangchuck and Dr. János Tőzsér the Rector of Szent István University.  Cooperation between the Kingdom of Bhutan and SZIU may take the following forms:  academic collaboration at the undergraduate, graduate and/or doctoral levels, exchange of faculty members and students, and joint research activities.

The Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development Fellowship Programme

The FAO / Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development scholarship is now available for students from select countries to study within the MSc in Agricultural Engineering and MSc in Rural Development and Agribusiness courses at Szent István University.

Brazilian Ambassador in Gödöllő

On December 15, 2012 Sergio Eduardo Moreira Lima, the Brazilian Ambassador to Hungary, visited our university on the invitation of our rector. This was his Excellency’s third visit to our institution; his last visit took place as a member of a delegation addressing animal husbandry and food supply chain with Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Jorge Alberto Mendes Ribeiro Filho. The reason of the most recent visit was to sign a teaching and research cooperation agreement with Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agripecuaria - EMBRAPA).

The 2-week Erasmus IP course entitled "Education for sustainable development: Exploring hopeful pathways to preferable local and global futures" coordinated by Csilla Kiss at the Faculty of Economic, Agricultural and Health Studies took place between 16th and 30th June in Portugal

Erasmus IP 2012

The 2-week Erasmus IP course entitled "Education for sustainable development: Exploring hopeful pathways to preferable local and global futures" coordinated by Csilla Kiss at the Faculty of Economic, Agricultural and heath Studies took place between 16 and 30 June in Portugal, hosted by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational  Sciences of the University of Porto. Eight universities from all over Europe participated in the highly successful IP course, during which 40  studentsand 14 tutors examined various aspects of Education for  SustainableDevelopment.
