Zsófia Mautner Visited SZIU International Students' Community Garden
Following the state secretary’s visit at SZIU international students’ community garden, our students received another famous visitor. On 7th July, the Hungarian cook, economist and food blogger Ms Zsófia Mautner visited the garden.
Zsófia Mautner studied at Sorbonne, speaks several languages, and worked as a diplomat in Brussels until she became famous due to her food blog http://chiliesvanilia.hu/. In 2009 she gave up her diplomatic career in Brussels and dedicated herself to cookery. She has published several cookery books and also worked for media.
With the guidance of Fernanda Ramos Diaz, the students took a tour with Zsófia and her friend Anikó Kardos (who called her attention to this initiation) through the garden while Zsófia was sharing her experiences during her trips around the world. She also encouraged the participants to expand the garden and include several other vegetables. Zsófia was very open and committed to help the international students in activities related to food preparation and gardening, teaching recipes with less known ingredients.
Zsófia has accepted our invitation to the next International Dinner, so hopefully we can host her again as the professional member of the jury.
